    Himachal Pradesh :

    To the North-West of India, this small friendly state is situated South of Kashmir and to the west of Tibet. A perfect heaven for travelers of all types. Himachal Pradesh is a land of gods and goddesses, fairs and festivals and isolated villages with Tribal populations, which add cultural variety.

    It is a Paradise for trekking, high mountain ranges covered with snow much of the year, high passes approached through lush green forests and orchards.

    Places of Interest:

    Shimla, the former British Summer capital, is the state capital. From Shimla one can explore the ancient kingdoms of Kulu, Kinnaur, Lahaul and Spiti.

    Kulu: the valley of the God- Alpine valley 1219 mts, the Daula Dhar and Pir Panjal ranges running parallel to south of it, the Bara Bhangal to the west and the Parvati ranges to the East.

    The region of Spiti was once part of the western Tibetan kingdom. A young Buddhist monk Rinchen Tsangpo traveled in the 10th century to India and returned with a score of holy scriptures. Once an important trans Himalayan trade caravans route between Tibet, Kashmir and Kulu. “SPITI” means middle country, as it lies between Kulu, Ladakh, Kinnaur, Lahoul and Tibet. There are many Gompas “ Tibetan Monasteries” like Tabo, Ki, Kibber.

    Dharamsala: 1230 mts District headquarter of Kangra valley. Above Dharamshala the town of McLeod Gang, the headquarter of the Tibetan Government in Exile and residence of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama

    1. “Spiti Trek” Kulu- Manikaran to Spiti via Pin Prabati pass 4802 mts
    This trek follows a lush forested path from Kulu into spiti with spectacular views of the great Himalayan range. This trek is an exciting one who are regular mountain walker. The effect of the monsoon is milder here than in the rest of India, expect in the kulu valley, afternoon are usually clear.
    Maximum Trek altitude 4802 mts Grade Moderate+ Strenuous
    Season Mid August to September

    07 camp 1 to over Pin Parbati pass 4802 mts 08 Chinpatta Maidan 09 Mud
    10 Sagnam – Trek end. 11 drive to Kaza or to Shimla
    12 Kaza to Chhatru Drive and 13 to Manali Drive.

    2. Manali - Dharamshala via Bara Bhangal (Tribal Village)

    MAXIMUM TREK ALTITLUDE:4700 MTRS.
    SEASON : Mid Sept.to Mid Oct.

    Manali "Queen of Hill Station"-Manali combines the words "Manu" and "Alaya" meaning" the home of Manu, the father of Mankind. Beautiful spot in the midst of pinewood with high mountains towering above it .This is a trip best enjoyed by those who are regular mountains walkers.

    Spiti and Lahaul are two remote Himalayan valleys of Himachal Pradesh on the Indo Tibet Border. The whole valley is surrounded by high mountains on all side and the great Himalayas to the North and
    Pir Panjal to the South.The climate is dry and cold.
    It has a cultural and religious association with Tibet. There are many gompas in this valley, Ki Gompa.

    Trek to the Chamba Valley, between the Dhauladhar and Pir Panjal Range. This is a less well-known trekking area, where you will not meet many tourists. The un-spoilt nature of the area to its charm

    5. Trans Himalayan Mountain Biking Manali- Leh (Ladakh)

    Distance: Cycling a total of 490 kms 12 days. Maximum Altitude 5260 mts.
    Season: Best time Summer June end to late September
    The weather is hot and dry with day temperature ranging from 25 to 30oC. Evening temperatures are cool, as low as 10 to 15oC. Rain or snow is always possible.

    The mountain biking starts at Manali, The cyclists are accompanied by a vehicle carrying, luggage, staff and camping gear.

    This is a perfect ride for Adventure lovers. You travel from lush green valleys to the barren mountains with snowy peaks. You traverse deep gorges and go over mountain passes, Rothang La 3980m, Baralacha La 4650 m, Lachunlung La 5015m and the highest on the Manali-Leh road, Tanglang La 5260m. Every day camp is at a suitable place where water is available.
