    Features: tigers, leopard, sloth bear, chital and sambar.


    Gujrat: The western state of India
    Gir- wild life sanctuary
    Season: Dec- April
    Features: Large population, panthers, samber, chital, nilgai, antelope, chinkara, wild boar, wild cat, marsh, crocodiles

    West Bengal: The gateway to the exotic east; Capital Kolkota

    Sunderban's National Park: Stretching from the Himalaya to the bay of Bengal, south of Kolkota is this National Park a  Tiger reserve, one of the largest deltas in the world and home to Royal Bengal Tiger, part of the vast region mangrove swamp forested island and small rivers, extends in to the Bangladesh

    The park hold more tigers than any other tiger reserve.
    The sanctuary is designated a world heritage site and part of project tiger.

    West Bengal Hills:
    Jalpare( Jaldhapara) wildlife sanctuary
    From Siliguri to Jaldhapara 124 kms
    Established in 1943 to protect the rhinoceros. Lying at the foot of Bhutan hills, bisected by the river Torsa. The forest is rich. Riding elephant is the best way to move in the forest.

    Buxa Tiger Reserve (Under project tiger)- Silguri
    Vital linking corridor for elephants migrating between the forests of Bhutan to the north and the Manas tiger reserve in Assam to the east.

    Assam:
    Capital: Guwahati
    Entry into the Brahmaputra river.
    Known for its tea, forests and wild-life

    Kaziranga National Park:
    Flat country with elephant grass on the bank of a river- the mighty Brahmaputra (Son of Brahma) the creator of the universe. Famous for one horned rhinoceros. Other animals are wild boar, gaur, leopard cats, rock python.
    Numerous species of water birds. Best way to see wildlife on an elephant ride.

    Manas Sanctuary and Tiger reserve
